Kyiv auto repair shop adapts captured Russian weapons for local forces

KYIV, March 14 (Reuters) – A Kyiv auto mechanics workshop has jumped from car or truck repairs and maintenance to adapting captured Russian weapons for use by Ukrainian troops defending the cash.

Oleksandr Fedchenko stated he experienced been throwing around thoughts with team at his vehicle repair service store soon after Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine previous month, thinking how they could support outgunned area forces.

“We collected a group of welders, engineers. We gave them drafts, we familiarized ourselves with the drafts. We built a prototype design and it worked,” Fedchenko explained.

Ukrainian forces have been forced to adapt immediately and have managed to slow the advance of Russian troops urgent the money Kyiv inspite of becoming outgunned on paper.

“We will remake these weapons so that the barrels will be directed to the enemy’s side, but not ours,” Fedchenko stated.
